Prog and Blues based band with art rock inclinations, FAMILY were one of the most interesting and successful groups of the hippie era. Fronted by deft and excellent guitar playing John “Charlie” Whitney and the raspy, unique, whiskey-and-cigarette voice of Roger Chapman. A progressive rock power house who dominated the UK festivals and charts throughout the late 60’s and early 70’s with ‘In My Own Time’, ‘Burlesque’, ‘My Friend the Sun’ and many more. We are thrilled to have FAMILY return to the stage for their first performance since their sell out performances at Shepard’s Bush Empire in 2013!
Larger-than-life riffs, unforgettable melodies and the distinct smell of beer cans and the Route 66: at least when your name is The Answer and the Route 66 leads to Northern Ireland! On their latest album Raise a little hell (what an understatement!) you get gritty guitar work, smoky vocals – and the spirit of AC/DC and Thin Lizzy is in the air! Eleven soundtrack anthems for your next road trip that don`t give a rat`s ass about trends.
Loud and proud, they sing about what they know with a refreshing directness and clarity. Some call it rebel music, but it’s more like everyday soul. Their songs are stories, with relatable characters and situations. Stories of celebration, of mourning, of trials and triumph. Through the quality of these songs, and the band’s undeniable power in concert and on record, Whiskey Myers has attracted a devoted army of outspoken fans who pack venues, sing the band’s praises online, and continue to make them a growing word-of-mouth sensation.
Also joining the line up for this year are country rockers Hogjaw and Road Dog and Blues aficionado Pat McManus!
