Goodfellas, Casino, Sopranos actor Frank Vincent has died aged 78

 

The beloved star of many Martin Scorsese films and The Sopranos, among dozens of other credits, died at age 78. Fans and friends mourn his loss.
Frank Vincent, most famous for his role as Phil Leotardo on The Sopranos, passed away on Wednesday after complications from open-heart surgery

TMZ reported that Vincent suffered a heart attack last week and passed away Wednesday during open-heart surgery at a hospital in New Jersey.

Vincent was known not just for his role on The Sopranos, where through seven seasons his character rose to become the boss of the Lupertazzi crime family, but also for his roles in the Scorsese-directed films Raging Bull, Goodfellas, and Casino. Most recently, Vincent appeared in an episode of Law & Order: SVU. Last year, he was also the voice of Jon Gabagooli in the animated series Mr Pickles.
